The SEFFICARE® medical device is unique in that it places the phase of tissue harvesting at the centre of treatment. The uniqueness lies in “pre-selecting” very small clusters of adipose tissue thanks to the unique cannula, equipped with 1000-micron side holes, which allows the tissue to be harvested already fluid and ready for re-implantation into the site to be treated, without the need for further handling. 

This mode of harvesting with gentle suction has shown that gravity settling of harvested adipose tissue and less exposure to ambient air result in greater cell viability in favour of a better regenerative effect.

CHARACTERISTICS AND ADVANTAGES

Due to its design, the SEFFICARE® device makes treatment safe, effective and quick, to be performed safely in an outpatient setting. 

SEFFICARE® allows harvesting in the least traumatic way possible for the patient and in the correct superficial layer where the highest concentration of mesenchymal cells is present, avoiding the risk of bruising deeper areas. In fact, the patented guide allows the physician to safely harvest tissue at a depth of 15 mm without risk of injuring underlying structures.

The harvested tissue does not require subsequent handling, fragmentation, filtering or the use of mechanical centrifugation systems, thus enabling preservation of maximum cell viability and promoting the regenerative effect. The absence of handling also allows only a modest amount of tissue to be harvested, because all the material taken can be used without dispersion.

Harvesting is quick, painless and safe. The VacLok® syringe, atraumatic cannula, patented harvesting guide and other accessories in the device form a complete disposable system for the procedure of anaesthetic solution administration, tissue harvesting and grafting, allowing all steps to be performed in the same session and without additional mechanical or manual procedures. 

The entire treatment takes about 40 minutes and allows the patient to immediately return to his or her normal life.
